                                                                  Digestion
What  happens when we eat these contaminants? To understand and appreciate the dangers  we should first understand some important concepts:

Food Toxins: One  variety of toxins are any food item that cannot be digested by human digestive  system, about which stomach, liver and intestines do not know and therefore  cannot produce enzymes to digest and metabolize,  and liver and kidneys cannot  detoxify. Another variety of toxins are those food items that can be digested by  gut and metabolized eventually enter blood stream and cells damaging the cells  and internal organs.

Enzymes &  Co-factors: An enzyme is any substance supplied through food or  produced by liver and intestines that helps digest and metabolize the food we  eat.  Co-factors are helpers to the enzymatic process. Enzymes participate in  liver's detoxification function in the body.

Digestion :  Digestion is the process of making the food separated into  nutrients for metabolism, wastes for elimination and toxins for  detoxification.

Metabolism:  Metabolism is the process of assimilation of nutrients from digested food into  regulated supply to the body organs and cells.

Detoxification:  Liver produces enzymes to bind to the known toxins, converting them into benign  wastes and then eliminates them to colon. This detoxification is carried out in  two stages:

Stage I Detoxification :  Binding and neutralizing the known toxins.

Stage II Detoxification  : Eliminating them through colon.

Elimination :  Large intestine, colon and rectum will eliminate the wastes using  the co-factors water, fiber and other enzymes. If the wastes are not eliminates  within the same day they will enter into blood stream through intestinal  walls.

Unhandled Toxins :  The contaminets in the food will be neutralized and eliminated by  the liver in its detoxification process. However liver does not know how to  detoxify many modern chemicals and it cannot produce enzymes to conjugate the  chemicals. These contaminants the liver cannot detoxify and eliminate will enter  the blood stream and create havoc on the organs and cells they come in contact  with. They can cause inflamation, organ malfunction and genetic damage. The only  solution for this problem is to eat the food in its most natural wholesome  state.
