Guacamole - Mexican dip for homemade wheat tortilla chips

9/1/2014

Guacamole is a healthy raw food.
Ingredients
1 avocado
a handful of cilantro
2-3 garlic cloves
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 or more of jalapenos or 1-2 tbsp pickled jalapenos
salt to taste

Preparation
Cut avocado into half and scoop out the avocado from the peel. Keep the seed aside.
Chop cilantro roughly.
Squeeze the juice from lemons.

Procedure
Take all the ingredients into the food processor and run the food processor until all the ingredients are well blended. Do not make it into a fine paste. Make it into a rough or coarse paste. Transfer this into a serving bowl.
Guacamole can be served with homemade wheat tortilla chips. You can also use it as a spread for your sandwich or as a dip for fresh vegetables.

Helpful Tips
If you keep the seed in the guacamole it won't discolor quickly. I don't know why. But it works. I learned it from my Mexican friends. Thanks to them.

Health information
Avocado is a good source of omega3 fatty acids which is important to maintain good cardiovascular health. It lowers the LDL (bad cholesterol) and improves the HDL(good cholesterol).
Avocado also contain a good amount of potassium. So it helps in maintaining the potassium -Sodium ratio.
Avocados are also good for weight loss and controlling diabetes.
