Make your own fabric starch with tapioca powder and enjoy the crispiness of your clothes.
Ingredients
1 tbsp Tapioca starch or Tapioca powder
3 cups of water
1 tbsp Tapioca starch or Tapioca powder
3 cups of water
Procedure
Mix tapioca powder in the water and boil for about 4-5 minutes on medium heat. Keep stirring. After 5 minutes you will notice that the liquid is not white anymore and it turns clear. Switch off the flame and let it cool down. After cooling down it will be ready to use. If you are not going to use it right away, you may refrigerate for about 10 days.
How to use
This quantity is enough for two dresses or shirts. If you are going to use for a saree, you may need to use all of it. Take some water in a large bowl or bucket and add starch liquid to the water. First of all dip the saree or dress in plain water and squeeze out the water. Then dip it in the starch water. Dip it completely so that starch will get to the fabric evenly. Wring out the water and dry it in the Sun. Before drying give it a good shake.
