Homemade Lemon Concentrate for lemonade

You can make your own lemon concentrate at home without using preservatives. You can use green lemons or the yellow ones. This simple technique is so useful for me so I thought it will be helpful to you too.
Ingredients
4 lemons
1 tsp salt

Preparation
Wash the lemons well. Cut them into quarter size pieces. Cut 8 pieces from each lemon.

Procedure
Squeeze out all the juice from lemons. You will get about 1 cup of juice from 4 lemons. Add 1 tsp sea salt. Let the salt dissolve in lemon juice. You may also add any good sweeteners like honey, agave nectar, stevia or raw sugar. This is your lemon concentrate to make lemonades. If you do not add sweetener, you can use it for your curries, marinades, lemon rice, lemon upma etc. It is very useful in the summer as you do not have to squeeze the lemon every time when you want a lemonade. It is ready for you. Without any preservatives you can easily preserve in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. I have never tried more than 2 weeks. But when you make a big batch, you may preserve some of it in the refrigerator for immediate use and the rest of it freeze in the ice trays. Those lemon ice cubes are so convenient to make lemonades and can be preserved for a long period. Homemade lemonade can give you and your family a good break from commercial drinks and sodas.

Useful Tips
You may make a big batch when lemons are available for a good price in the market. You may squeeze the juice in your free time, while watching TV or listening to your favorite music.

Health information
Commercial lemon concentrate bottles may contain preservatives like Sodium meta bisulfate, Sodium benzoate etc. Sodium benzoate is very common preservative and it is very harmful to health. It is even harmful to the next generations.
Homemade lemonade is a good alternative to commercial drinks.
