Extracting juice from tamarind juice and store it is a smart thing to do. Make it ahead of time when you have a large cooking event like a party or something like that. It make your cooking so easy. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. I already posted another video, where you can make tamarind paste and store it for a long time.
What you need
Large lemon size tamarind. I made a small quantity, but you may make a large batch as you need.
Water.

Procedure
After 15 minutes, start squeezing the tamarind to get the juice out of it. Transfer this thick juice into another bowl and leave the fibers and skin behind. Add some more water (this time you do not have to use warm water) to this and Squeeze out the juice again. This juice is not as thick as the earlier one. This is little watery. Transfer this into another bowl. Repeat the process until you get all the juice out of tamarind. What I mean is, repeat it until you do not get colored water anymore.
Finally what you have left with is some seeds and the skin. You may throw the skin and fiber in the compost. Keep the seeds and I will share another video what to do with them.

Storing and using
We extracted 2 kinds of juices. The thick juice can be used to make pulihora(tamarind rice) and you can also use it in the curries. The watery juice can be used to make rasam, sambar, pulusu etc. Both can be refrigerated for 2 weeks. Do not keep more than 2 weeks.
