Homemade Laundry Detergent Powder-Homemade Washing Powder

6/10/2016

Commercial laundry detergents contain a lot of unnecessary harsh chemicals that are not really needed for washing clothes. Make your own laundry detergent with very few ingredients and save some money too.
Ingredients
2 bars of Zote soaps or Phelsnaptha soaps
1 pack of borax(4 lb. pack)
1 pack of washing soda(3 lb. pack)
2 cups of baking soda(not baking powder).
Procedure
Grate the zote soap with a cheese grater. You may cut it into small pieces with a knife. But I found grating is easy. Take this grated soap into your food processor and add some washing soda or borax which helps in grinding. Grind them into a fine powder.
Take a large empty container and pour all the borax and washing soda into the container. Add 2 cups of baking soda. Then add the grated soap also. Give them a good mix.

The price will be around $5.
It is very economical.
Since there are no harsh chemicals in this recipe, you will not be exposed to harsh chemicals. Safe for environment. When you use the laundry detergents from supermarkets, they leave a small residue on your clothes. That may irritate your skin. You may get allergies. Brand name laundry detergents are one of the reasons for allergies in children. These toxic chemicals cause endocrine disorders. Some of them are carcinogenic. And the list goes on and on. We really do not need them in our detergents.
Any way thank you for watching and asking the question. Sorry for my delayed reply. I missed your comment somehow.
