Mango Peach Ice Cream with Jaggery - Healthy Version

9/8/2015

In this healthy version of Mango Peach Ice Cream I used jaggery for sweetener. It improves the taste and jaggery is a healthy alternative for white sugar.
Video in English
Ingredients
1 large sweet mango
2 medium sweet peaches
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup jaggery

Note- If the fruits are not sweet enough, then add a little more jaggery.
Video in Telugu
Preparation
Keep the ice cream maker in the freezer overnight.
Wash the fruits well.
Peel the mango and cut it into pieces.
Cut the peaches into small pieces.
Powder or grate the jaggery.
Powder the cardamom seeds.
Take whole milk, whipping cream, fruits and jaggery into your blender jar and blend them finely like a smoothie.
Procedure
Bring the ice cream maker out of the freezer and fix the paddle attachment. Put the lid and turn on the machine. Please follow your ice cream maker manufacturer's instructions. When the machine is running pour the pureed mixture slowly into the machine through the opening. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to make the ice cream. Let the machine run and keep an eye on it in between. You will notice the volume is increasing slowly and getting thick. I stopped at 30 minutes when it is full.
Transfer the ice cream into a container with tight lid. Cover the ice cream with a plastic wrap to protect from air to enter. Do not press. Just lightly cover the surface. Put on the lid and place the container in the freezer for t least 20 minutes. After 20 minutes take it out, remove the plastic wrap and scoop it out. Put the plastic wrap back on ice cream to prevent ice crystals to form on the surface. Serve it in a bowl and add your favorite toppings. Enjoy!!!!
