Panakam is a traditional Indian drink made on Srirama Navami festival day. But you can make it any time as a lemonade. Nice way to distract your kids from commercial sodas. It is very refreshing.
Ingredients
1 glass of water
1 tbsp of jaggery
2 cardamoms
6-8 black peppers
1/2 tsp ginger juice

Preparation
Grate the jaggery
Crush the cardamom and black peppers into a fine powder
Grate the ginger and squeeze it to extract juice from it.

Procedure
Add jaggery to water and let it dissolve completely. Strain it to take away any impurities from jaggery. Add ginger juice, crushed cardamom and black pepper. Mix them well. Serve it chilled or room temperature.

Helpful Tips
In the summer you can make this and keep it in the refrigerator. So you will have a refreshing drink. Panakam will be a healthy distraction for your kids or family from commercial, sugar filled, artificially flavored, artificially colored commercial drinks or sodas.

Health Information

Panakam will help you from dehydration in summer.
Jaggery that is used in Panakam is not a refined sugar.
