Ingredients
1 cup roasted chana dal/dalia/putnala pappu
1 cup jaggery
3 cardamoms powdered
1 cup roasted chana dal/dalia/putnala pappu
1 cup jaggery
3 cardamoms powdered
Preparation
Coarsely powder the cardamoms.
Cut or coarsely powder the jaggery.
Procedure
Keep a pan or skillet on medium flame.
Add about 1 tbsp of water to the pan.
Add jaggery to the water and let it melt.
keep stirring until the jaggery gets a thick syrup.
To test, put a few drops of syrup into a bowl of water. You should be able to make a ball with those drops of syrup.
Add roasted chana dal and keep stirring.
Add cardamom powder and mix everything well.
Take the mixture into a plate.
Wet your hand and take a little portion of the mixture and shape it into a ball.
Since the mixture is very hot it is hard to make a perfect ball.
So at first make an irregular ball and when it gets cold a little (it gets hard when it is completely cold) go back and make them into a perfect laddu.
When you are making a big batch of laddus the mixture gets hard then heat it up a little and make the laddus again.
It will be a healthy snack.
Store them in an air tight container for 2-3 weeks.
