Sonthi podi-Spicy dry ginger powder is a digestive aid. Sonthi podi is an excellent home remedy to relieve constipation.
Ingredients
1/4 cup of dry ginger powder
1/4 cup of coriander seeds
1/4 cup of chana dal
6 red chilies
1 tbsp cumin seeds
1/8 tsp fenugreek seeds
about 2 tsp of salt

Preparation
Dry roast all the ingredients except ginger powder and salt. Roast them on low medium until you smell a nice aroma. Keep stirring so they don't get burned. Switch off the flame when you smell a nice aroma. Let them cool down.
Procedure
When they are cold, take them into a blender jar along with salt and make slightly coarse powder. Transfer the spice powder into a bowl and add the dry ginger powder. Mix them well. Sonthi podi is ready. Store it in a clean glass bottle. You can store it in the room temp. for up to six months.
