10/23/2013

Turmeric and Ginger Pills are my home remedy for cough and cold. Without any side effects we have our own medicine for seasonal changes right in your kitchen.
Ingredients
Dry ginger powder 1tsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Powdered jaggery about 2tsp or you may use organic raw honey.
Ghee or clarified butter - as needed ( about 1/4 tsp).
Preparation
Powder the jaggery. If jaggery is soft grate it.
If you are using whole ginger, make it into a fine powder.

Procedure
Take turmeric, ginger powders and jaggery powder into a bowl. Mix them well. When everything is well mixed, take some mixture into your hand make it into a round shape. If the mixture is too dry and hard to make the pills add some ghee. If the jaggery is soft or if you are using honey, you do not need ghee. The moisture in the honey will be enough to make pills. Do not add too much ghee just enough to make balls. Make all the pills into approximately a peanut size.

Helpful Tips
People get cough and cold when the season changes. So get ready with these pills. Do not wait until you hit by cold and cough. These are a good preventive home remedy for seasonal changes. When you see the first symptoms also you can take them.

Health Information
Both Turmeric and Ginger are antibiotic. So they are good in treating seasonal allergies.
Turmeric and Ginger are also anti inflammatory. So they are also good for joint pains and muscular pains.
