Rava Kesari -Wheat rava Halwa-Annavaram Prasadam

Rava Kesari that is made out of wheat is more nutritious than sooji/semolina. And it will be much tastier when you use jaggery. Wheat rava is more filling and comforting. Rava Kesari/Wheat rava Halva can be offered to God as neivedyam.

Ingredients
1 cup wheat rava/cracked wheat
1 cup jaggery
3 tbsp ghee
3 cups water
a few cashew nuts, sliced almonds and raisins
3 cardamoms

Preparation
Powder the cardamoms and keep aside.
Fry the nuts and raisins in 1 tbsp of ghee until light golden color and keep aside.

Procedure
In a thick bottom skillet heat up 1 tbsp ghee and fry wheat rava/cracked wheat until you have a nice aroma. Do not let it get brown. Then add water, cover and cook on low medium for about 10-15 minutes. If it is not cooked continue for few more minutes. You may add water also if you need. Add jaggery and cook for few more minutes until it thickens a little. After adding jaggery it will loosen up a little and then thickens. Add 1 tbsp ghee. Add fried nuts and cardamom powder. Mix everything well. Garnish with nuts and raisins. Serve this as a snack or desert.

Helpful Tips
You may decrease or increase the amount of ghee and jaggery for your personal health preferences.
